Senior Director, University Health Services

WE Are
Searching to fill the role of Senior Director for University Health Services (UHS) at the Pennsylvania State University. UHS attends to the physical health needs of 45,000 students on the University Park campus by providing high quality care with pharmacy, laboratory, physical therapy, x-ray, student health insurance, and emergency medical services. UHS also provides central advice and oversight for student health services and issues on 19 other Penn State undergraduate campuses.

What YOU Will Do
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, you will provide institutional, strategic, and management leadership and direction for student health services, comprised of a nationally accredited ambulatory healthcare center on the University Park campus, and will be responsible for a $40 Million budget.

What YOU Need to be Successful
Education: An advanced degree in a relevant field (medicine, healthcare administration, public health, or other related field) or MD or DO with Board certification or Board eligibility in primary care.

Required experience/skills include:

A thorough understanding and knowledge of clinical practices and health care administration

Proven success in a management/leadership role

Clear understanding of the direction and future of health services

Preferred experience/skills include:

At least eight years of experience in health care administration, most notably college health administration

Experience directing the operations of a student health organization in a college or university environment

Knowledge and experience in the oversight of clinical services, pharmacy, laboratory, physical therapy, and emergency medical services

Experience efficiently managing fiscal, human resources, and risk management issues

Strategic planning, budgeting, and financial management experience

A high level of cultural competence in working with diverse populations

Involvement in professional organizations at the regional or national level
