Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing - Community Health and Medical Surgical Nursing

Starting Date: September 1, 2017- May 31, 2018 Limited Term Position

Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the position include teaching, professional/scholarly activity, and service. Teaching in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program includes advanced medical surgical nursing theory and community health nursing practicum courses. Final course assignments will depend upon department needs as well as the preferences of the successful candidate.

Qualifications: BSN and MSN required. Preference will be given to applicants who have a documented record of teaching and clinical expertise. Current Registered Nurse licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Wisconsin is required.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications.

The Program: The Department of Nursing is in the College of Health Sciences. The department offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree; current enrollment in the nursing major is 397 students.
The BSN program is approved by the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing and accredited by CCNE through December 2020. Since 2010, Carroll nursing graduates have an NCLEX RN pass rate of 95%- 100%. The nursing department faculty members have a record of scholarship and service. A full-time laboratory staff member coordinates two Nursing Skills and Simulation laboratories. A state of the art 15,000 square foot nursing simulation laboratory is in the new Douglas N. and Nancy J. Hastad Hall to be completed in December 2017. The Department of Nursing has a strong record of private foundation support and federal grant funding through Human Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Health and Human Services (HHS). Current practicum affiliations include health systems in southeastern Wisconsin and community health agencies.

The College: The College of Health Sciences includes the Department of Department of Health and Medicine, Department of Human Movement Sciences, Department of Nursing, and Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. The college faculty are recipients of federal and private foundation grant awards and participate in the University's general education program. The College has a strong staff of support personnel and laboratory coordinators.

The University: Founded in 1846, Carroll University is an independent, co-educational comprehensive college grounded in the liberal arts tradition. Carroll University is located in suburban Waukesha, 16 miles west of Milwaukee and 60 miles east of Madison. The University serves approximately 3480 full-time and part-time undergraduate and graduate students.
