Position: Director of Health Services - College Nurse
Status: Full Time, 12-month, Exempt
Reports to: Student Affairs

Position:
This position serves as the lead provider of clinical and emergency care on campus and has oversight of the campus Student Health Center.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Deliver appropriate, high-quality health care treatment and prevention services.
Provide educational programs and services for healthy lifestyle decision-making.
Ensure compliance with applicable protocols, regulations, and licensing requirements.
Establish priorities; formulate policies and procedures; plan and manage budgets.
Evaluate services; implement appropriate changes; pursue continuous improvement.
Communicate effectively with diverse constituencies; foster an environment of teamwork and collegiality.
Build and maintain relationships with public health agencies and community healthcare providers.
Use technology appropriately to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
Participate in emergency preparedness planning; coordinate response in the event of a campus health emergency.
Represent the College in local, regional and national organizations.
Other related responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Required:
Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Registered Nurse.
Administrative and clinical experience in healthcare.
Understanding of the physical, behavioral and emotional aspects of student health care services.
Broad knowledge of current best practices, guidelines and protocols in health care.
Knowledge of and appreciation for legal and risk management issues in health care.
Familiar with information technology applications to improve service quality and administrative efficiency.
Strong fiscal and resource management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work collaboratively with diverse individuals and constituencies.
Familiar with professional organizations and resources to advance health and wellness in a college setting.

Preferred:
Dedicated to and passionate about the health and well being of students.
Clinical experience with college-aged students.
Experience in college-based health care administration and delivery.
