Job Description
Anoka Technical College is seeking an equity-minded full-time instructor who is skilled in using active and experiential learning strategies; has enthusiasm for teaching and learning; has a strong commitment to creating a student-centered environment, and the ability to differentiate instruction across multiple levels and learning styles to join our outstanding Practical Nursing Program.
A successful candidate will be able to instruct students in a range of subjects across the assigned nursing curriculum/courses. This includes developing and revising curriculum to maintain relevancy in the field, as well as engaging in inclusion and cultural competency in the classroom. Providing both classroom theory and clinical instruction is expected in this position. Part of the faculty role is to assess student competencies as described in the curriculum and advise students to support student success. Maintaining consistent communications with students is a vital component of this position, as well as demonstrating a commitment to working in a diverse, multi-cultural and racial community.
Participation in departmental and college communities through a variety of activities (ie. curriculum development, service on committees, student life activities, department initiatives, grant initiatives, college-wide events, etc.) is also expected, along with maintaining current technical knowledge in the field through participation in professional development activities and professional organizations. The faculty member is also responsible to perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean, Vice President, or President.
Required Qualifications
Education Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in nursing or a graduate degree in support of the field of nursing and/or education with a bachelor's degree in nursing if the graduate degree is not in Nursing.
A nursing program director must hold a graduate degree with a major in Nursing, Nursing Administration, Nursing Education, Public Health Nursing, or a Nursing Clinical Specialty.
Occupational Experience Requirement:
Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse at the professional level.
As a registered nurse at the professional level, experientially qualified to accomplish the mission, goals, and expected student and faculty outcomes; including experiential preparation in the areas the faculty will teach.
Recency Requirement:
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Professional Requirement:
Current unencumbered license as a registered nurse with current registration in Minnesota.
Compliance with Clinical affiliate policies for attending on-site clinical teaching assignments.

In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.

Full-time faculty salaries are based on an evaluation of education and related experience after a job offer has been accepted and currently range from $44,824-$85,892. Full-time faculty work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits including health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, short and long-term disability, paid personal and sick leave, retirement savings plans, tuition waiver for employees and dependents, professional development funds, along with many optional benefit programs.
Salary and benefits will be based on the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) and the State of Minnesota. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
